Service interruption via unreleased codec probe allocation
Published May 20, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Memory leak in the WCD937x ASoC codec driver in Linux allows local users to interrupt service via codec probe error paths. The wcd937x_soc_codec_probe() error path returns after control or route registration fails without freeing clsh_info allocated by wcd_clsh_ctrl_alloc(). Exploitation requires low-privilege local access and a failing registration operation; no data disclosure or modification is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
