CVE-2025-37934

Undefined behavior via uninitialized playback-only flag

Published May 20, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Uninitialized-value use in Linux kernel ASoC simple-card utilities allows local users to trigger undefined behavior during audio card parsing. graph_util_parse_link_direction leaves playback_only unwritten when the playback-only property is absent, so imx-card later reads an indeterminate Boolean value. Reachability requires the affected ASoC parsing path and a card description without playback-only; the public record documents a UBSAN invalid load but no more specific security consequence.
