Published Apr 24, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Unverified password change in Buddypress Force Password Change 0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to take over accounts. The bp_force_password_ajax handler updates an arbitrary target account's password without verifying that the requester owns that account. Subscriber-level access is sufficient when the handler's prerequisites are met, and administrator credentials can be replaced.
