CVE-2025-37927

Kernel memory corruption via split-field length check

Published May 20, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in the AMD IOMMU ACPI parser in Linux allows local users to corrupt kernel memory via crafted boot parameters. The parse_ivrs_acpihid function checks ACPIID_LEN against the combined string length but copies HID and UID substrings into separate fixed-size buffers without validating each substring length. Reaching the overflow requires root or CAP_SYS_ADMIN in the initial user namespace, or physical bootloader access, and can corrupt kernel memory.
