Kernel crash via unsupported JFS inode type

Denial of service in Linux JFS allows local users to crash an affected kernel by mounting a crafted filesystem image. copy_from_dinode() accepts reserved on-disk inode types 5 through 15, so clear_inode() later finalizes an unsupported inode and reaches a kernel BUG. Exploitation requires local access sufficient to present and mount malformed JFS media; the demonstrated consequence is a kernel crash, not data disclosure or code execution.
