CVE-2025-37912

Host crash via unchecked VF VSI pointer

Published May 20, 2025 · Updated May 23, 2026

Null pointer dereference in the Linux kernel ice driver allows local users to crash the host through an FDIR filter request. In ice_vc_add_fdir_fltr(), code passes the unchecked NULL return from ice_get_vf_vsi() to ice_fdir_num_avail_fltr(). Reachability requires an Intel ice virtual function whose VSI lookup fails; the bounded consequence is a kernel service interruption.
