Kernel memory corruption via stale AdminQ completion
Published May 9, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Use-after-return in Linux pds_core allows local users to crash the kernel by completing an AdminQ request after its timeout. The pdsc_adminq_post() function keeps wait_context on its stack, but a timed-out request leaves q_info pointing to that expired completion object for the interrupt handler. Exploitation requires local access to a pds AdminQ device interface and a delayed firmware completion; consequences include a host-kernel crash and memory corruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
