Authenticated code execution via client-controlled MIME type
Published Apr 18, 2025 · Updated Apr 18, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in SourceCodester Web-based Pharmacy Product Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The add-product.php handler trusts the client-supplied MIME type, performs no filename-extension validation, and moves the original filename into the web-accessible uploadImage directory. Any logged-in user who can submit the new-product form can upload a disguised PHP web shell and invoke it remotely, enabling code execution under the web server account.
