CVE-2025-37824

Local denial of service via TIPC bearer race

Published May 8, 2025 · Updated May 23, 2026

A race in the Linux kernel TIPC monitor allows local users to crash the system by rapidly enabling and disabling a bearer. The disable path sets mon->self to NULL while queued enable work later dereferences it in tipc_mon_reinit_self without first validating the pointer. Low-privileged local access is required, and successful timing produces a kernel fault that interrupts the host.
