CVE-2025-37803

Denial of service via wrapped udmabuf page limit

Published May 8, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Integer overflow in Linux kernel udmabuf allows local users to cause denial of service during buffer creation with an oversized limit. In udmabuf_create(), 32-bit multiplication of the size_limit_mb module parameter by 1,048,576 wraps above 4,095 MB before producing pglimit, creating an incorrect page-count ceiling. Reachability requires an administrator to configure size_limit_mb above 4,095 and a local user to invoke udmabuf creation; the reported impact is limited to service interruption.
