Authenticated code execution via MIME-only avatar validation

Published Apr 17, 2025 · Updated Apr 17, 2025

Unrestricted upload in SourceCodester Web-based Pharmacy Product Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code. The edit-photo.php handler trusts the client-controlled Avatar MIME type and retains the supplied filename when moving the file into uploadImage. An authenticated user who can edit a profile photo can label a PHP payload as an allowed image type and request the uploaded file to run code as the web server.
