CVE-2025-3722

Arbitrary file writes via traversed ePO paths

Published Jun 26, 2025 · Updated Jun 26, 2025

Path traversal in Trellix System Information Reporter 1.0.3 and earlier allows local users to write files through malicious ePO requests. SIR accepts a pathname supplied in an ePO POST request without restricting the resolved destination to its intended directory, allowing file creation anywhere on the filesystem. Authenticated high-privilege ePO access is required; successful exploitation can overwrite existing files or expose sensitive information.
