Restricted file disclosure via substring path validation
Published Jul 1, 2025 · Updated Jul 1, 2025
Path traversal in HPE Insight Remote Support before 7.15.0.646 allows remote authenticated users to read restricted files. DownloadAttachmentServlet.checkIfArbitraryFile() accepts any path containing the collection-results directory without normalizing parent-directory segments. A low-privileged Windows account reaches the servlet only when uca.allowauthuser is enabled, and the Jetty service reads files as SYSTEM.
