Local privilege escalation via integer-overflowed write
Published Dec 11, 2025 · Updated Dec 11, 2025
Integer overflow in Google Android's kernel TPU component allows local users to escalate privileges through an out-of-bounds write. GetTachyonCommand in tachyon_server_common.h performs integer arithmetic that can overflow and drive a write beyond the intended buffer. Exploitation requires existing local low-privilege access to a supported Pixel device, but needs no user interaction or additional execution privileges.
