CVE-2025-36934Public exploit

Local privilege escalation via timed-out BigWave job

Published Dec 11, 2025 · Updated Dec 11, 2025

Use-after-free in Google Android's BigWave kernel driver allows local users to escalate privileges through /dev/bigwave. BIGO_IOCX_PROCESS times out while bigo_worker_thread still owns the job, so closing the file descriptor frees its objects before the worker copies registers through job->regs. Access to /dev/bigwave is required; reclaiming the freed allocation converts the stale pointer into a 2,144-byte kernel write that enables root credentials without user interaction.
