CVE-2025-36923

Adjacent privilege escalation via modem heap overflow

Published Dec 11, 2025 · Updated Dec 11, 2025

Heap buffer overflow in the Pixel modem on Google Android kernel allows remote authenticated users to gain elevated privileges. NrmmDecoder::DecodeSORTransparentContext in cn_NrmmDecoder.cpp writes beyond a heap allocation while decoding SOR transparent-context data. An attacker needs adjacent-network reach and low privileges, but no user interaction is required, and successful exploitation compromises the device.
