Remote code execution via unchecked modem message bounds
Published Sep 4, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in Android's Pixel cellular modem allows remote attackers to execute code through malformed cellular input. Code in cd_CnMsgCodecUserApi.cpp omits a bounds check while processing modem messages, allowing data to be written past an intended buffer. No privileges or user interaction are required; successful exploitation can compromise data and interrupt the affected Pixel device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
