Local privilege escalation via scheduled-scan bounds error
Published Sep 4, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in Android kernel WLAN code allows local users to escalate privileges through scheduled-scan result handling. wl_cfgscan_update_v3_schedscan_results() in wl_cfgscan.c applies an incorrect bounds check and writes scheduled-scan results outside the intended buffer. Low-privileged local code can reach the flaw without user interaction and gain elevated privileges on an affected Pixel device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
