Remote code execution via overlong SIZE argument
Published Apr 16, 2025 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
A buffer overflow in PCMan FTP Server 2.0.7 allows remote attackers to execute code by sending a crafted SIZE command over FTP. The SIZE handler copies an overlong command argument into a fixed-size memory region, letting 2,006 padding bytes reach and overwrite EIP. The published exploit logs in anonymously before sending the argument and demonstrates control-flow hijacking with a reverse-shell payload.
