Malicious firmware deployment via hard-coded FTP credentials
Published Dec 13, 2025 · Updated Dec 13, 2025
Hard-coded credentials in Growatt ShineLan-X 3.6.0.0 through 3.6.0.2 allow attackers to alter firmware distributed via FTP. The firmware embeds credentials for its FTP server and accepts replacement deployment files because firmware-signature verification is not enforced. Access to the FTP service is required; successful tampering can replace legitimate device firmware with attacker-controlled images.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
