File overwrite in Tenable Nessus 10.8.4 and earlier on Windows allows local users to replace arbitrary system files with log content. Tenable has not published the affected logging component or how a non-administrative user redirects its SYSTEM-privileged writes. Local non-administrative access is required, and successful exploitation corrupts or replaces files writable by the Nessus service.
