WinBioSVC memory corruption via unchecked buffer lengths
Published Nov 17, 2025 · Updated Nov 17, 2025
Out-of-bounds access in Dell ControlVault3 before 5.15.14.19 and Plus before 6.2.36.47 allows local users to corrupt WinBioSVC memory. StorageAdapterControlUnit writes four null bytes before validating a short receive buffer and reads a WINBIO_IDENTITY from a send buffer without checking its minimum length. Exploitation requires low privileges and user interaction; service crashes and memory disclosure are established, while SYSTEM code execution remains unconfirmed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
