Server crash via crafted federated statement
Published Jan 30, 2026 · Updated Jan 30, 2026
Denial of service in IBM Db2 Federated server 12.1.0 through 12.1.3 allows local users to crash the server via a crafted statement. The Federated server mishandles a specified quantity in data query logic while processing the statement; IBM has not disclosed the affected code path or precise validation failure. Only Unix deployments are affected; Linux and Windows are not, and a local Db2 user must be able to submit the statement.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
