Root access via invalid SQL authorization check
Published Nov 1, 2025 · Updated Nov 1, 2025
Missing authorization in IBM's integrated operating system 7.2 through 7.6 allows remote authenticated users to gain root access. The SQL-services authorization logic fails to enforce the requesting profile's privileges and permits execution under another profile's elevated authority. Low-privileged network access is required, and successful exploitation grants root-level control of the host operating system.
