RSS feed disclosure via unchecked record identifier
Published Apr 25, 2025 · Updated Apr 25, 2025
Authorization bypass in affected Moodle LMS releases allows remote authenticated users to read RSS feed content assigned to other users. The blocks/rss_client/viewfeed.php endpoint accepts a user-controlled rssid and previously loaded the matching block_rss_client record without restricting the query to feeds owned by or shared with that user. Any logged-in user who can reach the RSS client view can disclose only another valid feed record's content; no modification or service interruption is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=4.1.0 <4.1.18
- Affected versionversion=4.3.0 <4.3.12
- Affected versionversion=4.4.0 <4.4.8
