Sensitive information exposure via hard-coded signing keys
Published Sep 26, 2025 · Updated Sep 26, 2025
IBM Cognos Controller 11.0.0 through 11.0.1 and IBM Controller 11.1.0 through 11.1.1 allow remote attackers to read sensitive data. The session-cookie signing implementation uses cryptographic keys embedded in the product instead of installation-specific secrets. Exploitation requires network access and overcoming a high-complexity condition that IBM does not further describe; the reported consequence is sensitive-data disclosure only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=11.0.0 <=11.0.1
- Affected versionversion=11.1.0 <=11.1.1
