CVE-2025-36228Network attack vector

Unauthorized feature access via inconsistent backend permissions

Published Dec 26, 2025 · Updated Dec 26, 2025

Authorization inconsistency in IBM Aspera Faspex 5 5.0.0 through 5.0.14.1 allows remote authenticated users to access disabled features. The backend API applies permissions differently from the user interface, leaving features exposed even when the interface shows them as disabled. High-privilege authenticated access is required, and the documented impact is limited to unauthorized feature use affecting confidentiality and integrity.
