CVE-2025-36124Network attack vector

Unauthorized data modification via ignored JMS configuration

Published Aug 12, 2025 · Updated Aug 12, 2025

Security bypass in JMS messaging in IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty 17.0.0.3 through 25.0.0.8 allows remote attackers to alter data. The JMS implementation fails to honor messaging configuration when an affected JMS feature is enabled, but IBM has not disclosed the specific code path or incorrect operation. Reachability requires one of the six named JMS features; unauthenticated network access is sufficient, and the documented impact is limited to unauthorized modification.
