Authenticated privilege escalation via web session hijacking
Published Aug 8, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Authentication bypass in IBM i 7.3 through 7.6 allows remote authenticated users to perform DCM actions as administrators. Digital Certificate Manager mishandles an authenticated web session, permitting hijacking, but IBM has not disclosed the faulty handler or validation step. Non-administrator DCM access is required; successful exploitation grants administrative DCM actions affecting managed certificate operations.
