User impersonation via persistent browser sessions
Published Jan 20, 2026 · Updated Jan 20, 2026
Session expiration failure in IBM Sterling Connect:Express Adapter 5.2.0.00 through 5.2.0.12 allows remote authenticated users to impersonate users. The web interface retains an authenticated session after its browser closes and continues accepting the associated session identifier for authorization. Reuse of that still-valid session grants access within the impersonated account’s permissions, including reading or changing data and interrupting operations.
