CVE-2025-36057

Physical authentication bypass via unused LocalAuthentication framework

Published Jul 21, 2025 · Updated Aug 18, 2025

Authentication bypass in IBM Cognos Analytics Mobile for iOS 1.1.0 through 1.1.22 allows physically proximate attackers to access the application. The client includes the Local Authentication Framework library even though the application does not use biometric authentication, creating an unintended alternate authentication path. Physical access to the device is required; successful exploitation bypasses application access controls and affects exposed data integrity and confidentiality.
