CVE-2025-36047Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Service interruption via unbounded HTTP/2 stream processing

Published Aug 14, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Denial of service in IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty 18.0.0.2 through 25.0.0.8 allows remote attackers to exhaust server memory. Its HTTP/2 stream accounting closes reset streams at the protocol layer while backend work continues, allowing unbounded concurrent processing. Exposure requires servlet-3.1, servlet-4.0, servlet-5.0, or servlet-6.0 with HTTP/2 enabled, and the reported consequence is memory exhaustion and service interruption.
