Protected-resource deletion via ERASER TOCTOU race
Published Apr 30, 2025 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
A TOCTOU race in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Windows Agent allows remote attackers to delete protected resources through the ERASER Engine. The engine checks a resource and later deletes it without ensuring that the checked resource still identifies the same target. Exploitation requires user interaction and affects availability by removing resources normally protected from the application or user.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
