Contributor-level stored XSS via jQuery metadata
Published May 12, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Firelight Lightbox before 2.3.15 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through crafted posts. The jQuery Metadata path parses attacker-controlled object syntax from a link class, then uses its title value without neutralizing script-bearing markup. Contributor post-writing access is required, an administrator must enable the metadata option, and another user must preview the post and click its link.
