Authentication bypass via hard-coded JWT signing key
Published Jun 10, 2025 · Updated Jun 11, 2025
Authentication bypass in GFI Software GFI Archiver 15.7 through 15.8 allows remote attackers to access protected API endpoints. The ArchiverSpaApi ASP.NET application verifies JWTs with a hard-coded signing key, allowing attacker-generated tokens to pass signature validation. No authentication is required, but impersonation requires a valid UserGuid; the default Administrator UserGuid is stored in the installation directory.
