CVE-2025-3586Network attack vector

Administrator code execution via unrestricted Groovy actions

Published Sep 1, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Incorrect authorization in Liferay Portal and DXP allows remote authenticated users with Instance Administrator rights to execute Groovy code. The Objects module accepts Groovy scripts in Object actions without restricting that interpreter for administrator-authored actions and validations. Exploitation requires the Instance Administrator role and yields arbitrary code execution on self-hosted or PaaS instances; SaaS blocks Groovy actions.
