Authenticated stored XSS via welcome-page content
Published Jun 3, 2025 · Updated Jun 3, 2025
Stored XSS in Newsletter before 8.8.2 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through Subscription welcome-page content. The setting stores raw HTML and renders event-handler code without sanitization or output escaping when a later plugin form submission displays the welcome page. Access to the Subscription settings and a configuration that denies unfiltered_html are required; the injected script runs in the submitting user's browser.
