Stored XSS via unrestricted HTML upload
Published Apr 14, 2025 · Updated Apr 14, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in StudentManager 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to store executable HTML through the article uploader. The /upload/uploadArticle.do endpoint accepts a multipart file without restricting dangerous types and retains its filename after adding a timestamp. Manager-level access is required; opening the uploaded HTML executes its script in a viewer's browser.
