Unauthenticated digital-product disclosure via exposed file_url
Published Apr 23, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Sensitive information exposure in Simple Shopping Cart 5.1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to download digital products without payment. The product shortcode places its file_url download location in front-end output instead of withholding it until a completed purchase. Any public page rendering a digital-product shortcode exposes the configured URL without authentication, enabling direct file retrieval.
