Root privilege escalation via unsanitized port-forward argument

Argument injection in Microhard IPn4Gii and Bullet-LTE firmware through 1.2.0-r1132 allows remote authenticated users to gain root access. The cmd_firewall_port_forwarding function inserts an AT+MFPORTFWD argument into a shell command passed to popen without neutralizing command substitutions. A valid restricted-CLI account reachable by Telnet or SSH is required; injected shell syntax then executes with the root privileges of the CLI service.
