Unauthenticated code execution via oversized DICOM data
Published May 22, 2025 · Updated May 22, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in MedDream PACS Server 7.3.3.840 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted DICOM file. Its DICOM parser copies user-supplied data into a fixed-length stack buffer without first validating the supplied length. No authentication is required, and successful exploitation runs code with the PACS service account's privileges.
