Unauthenticated shortcode execution via unchecked AJAX input
Published Apr 22, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Code injection in OceanWP Ocean Extra 2.4.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary shortcodes through an AJAX request. The update_oceanwp_woo_free_shipping_left_shortcode action passes content_rech_data to do_shortcode without restricting the requested shortcode. WooCommerce must also be active, and the resulting confidentiality or integrity effect depends on the shortcodes registered by the site.
