Contributor-level settings modification via REST authorization failure
Published Apr 30, 2025 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Incorrect authorization in Brainstorm Force SureForms before 1.4.4 allows remote authenticated users to update plugin settings. The srfm-global-settings REST endpoint accepts a Contributor session cookie and REST nonce, then writes attacker-supplied global settings without enforcing the intended administrative authorization. Contributor-level access is required, and exploitation changes site-wide validation messages and other form configuration available through the endpoint.
