Unauthorized RPC access via substring origin check
Published May 9, 2025 · Updated May 19, 2025
Origin validation error in ASUS DriverHub before 1.0.6.0 allows remote attackers to invoke local RPC features via crafted HTTP requests. Its loopback RPC service accepts an Origin header when the value merely contains the trusted driverhub.asus.com string instead of matching the host exactly. A user must visit an attacker-controlled site; successful calls can disclose device data or reboot the host, while code execution requires a separate flaw.
