Protocol password disclosure via cleartext encryption-key logging
Published Aug 25, 2025 · Updated Aug 25, 2025
Sensitive-data logging in Arista EOS allows local users to obtain the global common encryption key from local or remote accounting logs. EOS writes the configured key to accounting records in clear text instead of withholding the sensitive value. Exploitation requires an affected release, a custom global key, access to the logs, and encrypted running-config secrets; together these disclose neighbor-protocol passwords.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
