Authenticated command execution via unsanitized backup parameters
Published Oct 16, 2025 · Updated Oct 16, 2025
OS command injection in Ilevia EVE X1 Server firmware 4.7.18.0.eden and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The utilities/restore_backup.php script passes attacker-controlled restore_backup and backup_list POST values to exec() without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Valid web-interface credentials and network access to port 8080 are required; successful requests execute operating-system commands with the web service's privileges.
