Account lockout via unprotected username change
Published Dec 10, 2025 · Updated Dec 10, 2025
CSRF in 1Panel 1.10.33 through 2.0.15 allows remote attackers to change an authenticated user's username through a malicious webpage. The Change Username endpoint at /settings/panel accepts a session-cookie-authenticated request without an anti-CSRF token or Origin or Referer validation. The victim must visit attacker-controlled content while signed in; the forced change logs the victim out and blocks login under the former username.
