Unauthenticated RCE via unrestricted backup file upload
Published Nov 19, 2025 · Updated Nov 20, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in AudioCodes Fax Server and Auto Attendant IVR 2.6.23 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute commands. The unauthenticated ajaxBackupUploadFile.php handler appends an attacker-controlled basename to the configured backup path and moves the upload without validating its type. On default Windows deployments, a configuration file can make Apache interpret attacker-influenced log content as code, yielding NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM execution.
