Stored XSS via unsanitized location country code
Published Oct 28, 2025 · Updated Oct 28, 2025
Stored XSS in IPFire before 2.29 (Core Update 198) allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript through a location group. The savelocationgrp path in /cgi-bin/fwhosts.cgi stores COUNTRY_CODE and renders it without HTML sanitization or output encoding. An authenticated WebGUI session is required, and the payload executes when another user views the affected page, enabling page-context data access or actions.
