SYSTEM code execution via raced audit-log export
Published Dec 20, 2025 · Updated Dec 20, 2025
Local privilege escalation in Versa SASE Client 7.8.7 through 7.9.4 allows local users to execute code as SYSTEM via audit log export. A privileged Windows service accepts a user-controlled export path without impersonation, then checks and deletes it across a TOCTOU window. Low-privileged access permits symbolic-link and mount-point swaps that redirect deletion to protected directories, enabling MSI rollback execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
